Project Overview
We were contacted by a client in a Soho loft who needed emergency restoration for a premium, top-grain leather lounge chair and matching ottoman. Over years of regular use, the leather had accumulated body oils, dark denim dye transfer, and surface grime, causing the material to look dull, stiff, and vulnerable to cracking.
Standard household cleaners contain harsh chemicals that strip away the natural moisture of premium hides. Our objective was to deeply purge trapped dirt from the leather pores, lift the stubborn dye transfer, and reintroduce vital pH-balanced nutrients to restore the chair’s signature buttery-soft texture without altering its natural patina.

Micro-Vacuuming & Crevice Prep: We began by meticulously vacuuming the seams, tufts, and buttons to remove all loose abrasive grit that could scratch the leather during the cleaning process.

Targeted Dye & Oil Extraction: Using a specialized, pH-neutral leather cleanser and ultra-soft horsehair brushes, we gently agitated the surface to break down heavy body oils and lift the dark denim stains from the pores.

Hydration & Conditioning Treatment: Once completely clean, we applied a museum-grade, deep-penetrating leather conditioner. This step replenishes natural oils, restores suppleness, and prevents future cracking.

Buffing & Protective Sealant: To finish, the leather was hand-buffed to a beautiful, non-greasy satin sheen, followed by the application of a breathable polymer sealant to guard against future spills and UV fading.
