We were commissioned by a homeowner on the Upper East Side whose wall-to-wall carpeting required a professional “reset.” Between seasonal foot traffic and a few stubborn localized stains, the carpet fibers had become flattened and discolored.

The Process

Fiber Identification & Pre-Vacuuming: We first inspected the carpet pile to ensure the correct temperature and pressure settings. We then removed all dry soil and particulates to prevent “mudding” during the wet phase.
Magic Formula Spot Treatment: We applied our specialized “Magic Formula” to specific traffic lanes and accidental spills. This solution breaks the molecular bond between the stain and the fiber without damaging the carpet’s structural integrity.
Deep Wash Extraction: Using industrial-grade extraction equipment, we flushed the entire room with a heated cleaning solution. This process pulls contaminants from the base of the carpet to the surface for immediate removal.
pH Balancing & Grooming: To ensure the carpet felt soft and remained clean longer, we applied a neutralizing rinse. We finished by grooming the pile to promote rapid drying and a uniform appearance.
